Ethan Morgan Presents “The Ride”
I grew up snowboarding on the East Coast, and my love for snowboarding ran so deep that it even influenced my college choice. In the late ’90s, CU Boulder was the ultimate playground—not just for riding, but for discovering new passions. It fueled my snowboarding obsession and opened the door to the world of DJing. As a ’90s hip-hop head, I was hooked on the boom bap beats of the East Coast—from Wu-Tang and Nas to Biggie.
Then came electronic music, and everything changed. Drum & Bass, with its sped-up breakbeats layered over hip-hop samples and chest-rattling basslines, pulled me in hard. Over time, I dove into the full spectrum of electronic genres—house, techno, dubstep, downtempo—you name it.
Snowboard videos traditionally lean on hip-hop, punk, and rock, so electronic music has rarely been center stage. But then I came across The Ride, and Ethan Morgan flipped the script. I wasn’t ready for the sensory overload he delivered—a wild mashup of high-energy house, techno, jungle, and hardstyle spun on an all-vinyl DJ set, synced to visuals that melt your brain.
The Ride isn’t just a snowboard movie—it’s an experience. Imagine Mack Dawg meets Trainspotting meets Meow Wolf, brought to life by the creative genius of Ethan Morgan. It’s hands down one of the most original and mind-blowing snowboard films in decades.
